Why is Art (far right) on the roof?  The story behind this picture is that Art and Lorry (his future brother-in-law) were college roommates.  Art and his buddies liked giving Lorry a hard time.  They placed all of Lorry's furniture on the roof and Lorry found them sitting up there reading when he came back.  Marlene married him anyway.

Mark calls these his dad's Buddy Holly days.
