Benjamin Franklin Mouck (1837-1910) Melanie's great-great-grandfather Benjamin served in the Civil War in the Missouri Confederate Infantry. Benjamin's father spelled their name Mauck. Ben could not write, and when he enlisted in the army, the clerk spelled his name B. F. Mock. He is listed that way on a few censuses, and then a visiting half-brother told him the name was spelled with a "u" thus he and all his descendants spell the name Mouck. |
